i have just finished The Neandertals by Erik Trinkaus and Pat Shipman. It is a wonderful tour through the intriguing field of Human Paleo-Anthropology up to 1993. The sheer delusion and crookedness of some of the scientists involved beggars belief.

i am now spurred on to read of developments in the 20 years since this seminal work was published.

Read Heart of Darkness again recently. Realised just how good it is. Definitely one of the finest books ever written.
