I use the spray tubes. Gets more area covered and you can still rub it in. Does that answer your question?

A bit daft if you ask me, especially in the UK...
It is reccommended by the *sun people* that you use some sort of sunscreen all year round, although I wouldn't think you'd need something as high as 40 in the winter, but it's not going to do any harm is it! I'd find one that's not too greasy though, as your skin won't thank you for the excess grease in the long run, sprays are often good for that though.

The new ambre solaire one is really good at not being greasy. It's completely see through as well.

if you're female a lot of make up has UV protection so it may be easier to settle for that? especially cos you wont be wearing tshirts etc in winter. though i can't see it doing any harm so if it makes you feel happier, as said above, wear a non greasy factor 15ish spray perhaps

:ditto: alot of foundation now has an spf. my clinique has one of 15. i know its not the same as suncream n probably won't be as affective, but its nice to know! also you can buy tinted moisturisers now which have spf in, if you dont wear foundation!

Im thinking of wearing a spf 40 sun cream everday all year to prevent pre mature ageing and spots from appearing in later life. Do you think it will stop things like vitamin D from the sun though? Or does it only block UVA/UVB rays? Also what do you think of the idea lol, they say you should wear sunscreen even in winter.

Well, it's you skin itself which produces the vitamin D when the UVB rays hit it. Blocking the UVB from hitting the skin will mean you produce less vitamin D.

Maybe you could get a moisturisor which has sun protection? It woudl mean not applying twice.

Apparently spf15 is what you should have on all year round, however this is usually raised in the summer depending on your skin type.
I guess it depends whereabouts you live, some parts of the UK don't get enough sun to warrant wearing sun cream 365 days a year!

You can still get burnt and not visible gradual skin damage from over cast sunlight. If its light enough to see then there are still UVA and UVB rays shining down.

It's usually best not to ask.

I wouldn't think SPF 40 is necessary all year, or even that good for you. Your skin does need some UV exposure, and suncreams do contain some fairly nasty chemicals at the higher SPFs. A light one on your face can be a good idea, but that's pretty much all of your body that'll be on display in winter, so I wouldn't waste time or money on protecting the rest of your skin.

I didn't say to wear a high SPF all year, but it's adivsed by dermatologists to wear a day cream with spf 15 in to protect your skin from early decline. I agree that you should possibly only put it on your face during winter because hardly anything else will be exposed.
OMFGFGGG!!! u are all paranoid!! maybe its just tha fact im spanish and i NEVER wear sun protection.. but who could possibly wear it in WINTER!!!!???? its mental! stupid and useless!! it is well known we get lots of vitamins through the skin, so why just stop getting them!!=¿?¿ aragGEWG!!!

Ok calm down, nobody is forcing you to protect your skin from aging quickly or getting skin cancer.

Whereas never wearing sunscreen when you live in a Mediterranean country is a GREAT idea!

Whereas never wearing sunscreen when you live in a Mediterranian country is a GREAT idea!

which is why it's been proven that mediterranian people tend(sensetive people please notice this word) to have aged skin much younger
Just because you don't burn because you have mediterranean skin doesn't mean that the sun isn't causing heeeuge ammoutns of damage to your skin.
