    Hi everyone!

    Basically i have an exam tomorrow and there's a question from a past paper that i dont fully understand.
    I've uploaded a pic of the question.

    Its part b, i.e. determine the range ...... etc


    ANSWER IS:-0.5≥x≥-1

    I dont understand the reasoning behind it.

    plz help!

    It means x is greater than or equal -1 and less than -0.5.

    You've got to understand, -1 is smaller than -0.5. Hope it helps.

    no i understand that.
    But my query is that, if you put 1.5 into that equation, then both the left hand side and right hand side are equal, but 1.5 is out of the range of
    -1> x> -0.5

    this question has to do with ceiling and floor
