I'm in my last year of IB DP in Sweden and I am hoping to be able to start university in England in 2015 (so I didn't apply this year). I am quite bored of the town I live in and want a change, but it is one of the few "good" uni cities in Sweden so I don't really have anywhere to go + I want an adventure.
I have been doing some research and I think University of Nottingham seems amazing (too good to be true?). I haven't really decided what to study yet (History, History & Politics, Law or International Relations) and of course it depends on how good grades I get but anyway..
Is it as good as everyone says? I know the "crime issue" is always debated, but as long as I'm sensible I don't think it's really a big issue?
I'm quite shy and going abroad to study is waay out of my comfort zone, I know I will be fine as long as I meet some friendly people but how are people/students in general? Are there many international students and where do they come from?
Anyone who studies what I'm considering and has any advice?
How is the work load? Can you get help or are you pretty much on your own?
How is the campus and accommodation? I'm not the best cook, so I think catered would be a quite nice choice (at least the first year) if the food is good.
How is Nottingham as a city? I don't love to party (can be fun sometimes but it's not my biggest hobby)so it would be fun if there is something else to do too.
General advice and stuff is very appreciated!
I'm hoping to go London at some point this year and would then of course try to visit Nottingham to see it in person, but to get inside information from someone actually studying there would be lovely..
(sorry for the long post, heheh)
