If there is a newsagents owned by a husband and wife, the wife being in charge of the paperwork and the husband working in the newsagents, if the husband was to sell tobacco or fireworks to someone under the age of 18 and failed to put notices up in relation to age restricted products in the newsagents.. are both the owners liable for the offence or just the husband for committing the offence?

your help would really be appreciated
