I was recently thinking of applying to Bath University, however, they don't do my course (History). I was looking at other options and then came across Sussex. Is Sussex thought to be a high regarded university?

    Thanks.

First year History and Sociology student!

Sussex History department is within the top 25 I think!

As for content, I took the early modern world last term which ranges from the plague right up until the French Revolution. Off the top of my head, the lecturers were mostly good (no university will have 10/10 for lecturers) and you can tell the lecturers know what they are on about as well!

Sussex is a 'good' Uni and Brighton is a great place to live for three years. But, this choice depends on which Uni you will feel comfortable at and which course appeals to you the most.

Go to an Open Day ([http://www.sussex.ac.uk/study/visitus/ug) and have a look around. Read the Course Description [http://www.sussex.ac.uk/history/ugst...4/30096#course carefully - what 'sort' of History do you want to study?

    And read this - http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/wiki/history_degree
