Interesting that he makes no mention that the majority of the country's that he's compared the UK to expect their populations to contribute through private health care on top of tax contributions.

Basically, per capita, the UK government spends roughly the same per head on health than any other European nation. However, they expect additional private funding.

The % public funding table here shows the level of additional private funding expected.

In the UK, the givernment foots 96.9% of the bill. In France, the government foots 76.9% of the bill. In Norway its 82%.

If we introduced policy whereby people in the UK had to fund 20% of their health spending themselves through private healthcare then we'd probably be top.

Well, the fact that he refers to the current coalition government as 'the tories' doesn't smack of objective political commentary to me. It's also blatantly padded to reach 100 points. (he repeats points pretty shamelessly). Apart from that, he classes any cut to any funding, any reduction in staffing and any privatisation of any kind as betrayals without reference to their effect. He assumes all money spent on NHS reforms is wasted, again without reference to results.
