Leg pains

Hey, don't really know how to describe this problem but here goes.

For as long as I can remember I sometimes get these pains in my legs, really hard to describe but I normally get them in the middle of night when I'm in bed. They're not amazingly painful or anything but they are annoying and I can't get to sleep with them. They do hurt and there's nothing I can do to get rid of them quickly. Massaging the muscles helps lessen them slightly, as does putting my leg out of the window (cold air)

Does anyone else get such pains? If so, how do they get rid of them?

Thanks

There is a condition called 'restless legs' which stops people from going to sleep, not sure if its muscle pain though. Have a look at this http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/conditions/restlesslegs1.shtml

Thanks very much! That sounds quite likely- I've had it more frequently during exams (spent lots of time at an exam desk) and yeah I guess I could reduce my caffeine intake lol. Thanks again

i sometimes get pains in my legs in the middle of the night and it wakes me up,

i think it must be cramp as its when i move about in my sleep (turning) and it is really painful,

it goes away after about 2 minutes of pain,

im on my feet all day and some evenings if i go out

I get it in my knees- sometimes meaning whenever I sit down I am constantly having to stratch my legs out to stop the annoying pain sensation. Its apparently due to rough cartilage and I should grow out of it, but that hasnt happened yet!

Hey there Jigglyyyypuff!

Are you quite active - do you do regular exercise to the point of sweating? What kind of build have you got? Alternatively, have you any varicose veins?

I am usually quite active yeah, but thinking about it recently I haven't been as much so. Average build, no varicose veins. I think I'm going to make an effort to maintain my exercise, maybe stretch a little before bed too, as 90% of the time that's when/where I get it.
