Smoking weed relaxes the airways and dilutes the alveoli (air sacks in the lungs) so its gonna make your breathing feel less constricted for a while. Coughing stuff up isnt going to be as healthy, so there is a balance.
Smoking weed is never healthy! Smoke from a joint or a cigarette can aggravate your asthma and cause an attack. Best to avoid smoking anything if you have bad asthma as it will only make it worse.

So that many people can remain in ignorance? I'm not having a go at you personally, I just think it would be good if people could talk about the health aspect of drugs.

Mj is a dilator of your air ways so in that respect it will help you. however the adverse affects of smoking such as the tar build up will far outweigh, in my opinion, the small short term benefit.
Actually, because of that fact it causes you to cough more, which in my opinion isn't great for an asthmatic.

If you are going to do it mate, which I don't advise. Smoke blunts or use a bong, and do not use resin or hash as they are filled with **** like brick dust and horse tranqs!
I should have clarified, of course I know weed is unhealthy in general.
Is marijuana smoking specifically more detrimental for asthmatics, if you google it you can find many conflicting reports. One site reports marijuana was the main drug of choice for asthma attack relief in the old days before inhalers...
Not strictly true. While promoting the use of illegal drugs is NOT allowed, discussing them is, within the bounds of common sense.
As for the OP, as an asthmatic smoking anything will be more likely to affect you adversely than a non-asthmatic as you will react more to the particulates in smoke. I don't know about marijuana's supposed bronchodilatory effects, but even if the drug itself would do that, the amount of irritants in the smoke will increase your risk of having an attack. So I'd advise against it.
I know asthmatics that smoke weed. They cough more and use their inhalers more as a result. If you're asking if you'll die of an asthma attack, probably not--although that depends how severe your asthma is.
