Creatien supplements, confused directions:S

Hey I just bought some creatine (York), and I can't understand how I should take it. It says that there are 2 phases of consumption, loading and maintenance:
Loading requires 5g creatine, mixed with orange juice or similar drink, 4 times a day for 5 days.
Maintenance requires 5g creatine twice a day ad infinitum.

What should i do? How should I start?

5g, 4 times a day, for one week.

Then just take it once a day during maintainence phase. (which is after that week)...Mix it with your orange juice, or protein shake - doesnt matter which one.

Hope that helps.

P.S.

Creatine in my opinion is ****. Your better off getting a proper weight gainer if you are trying to bulk up.

What i dont understand is why did you purchase a supplement that you obviously dont know much about?

Depending on which type of creatine you got,

Monohydrate - requires a loading phase
Ethyl Ester (CEE) - Can be taken straight away and doesn't require a loading phase as it is absorbed into the system without the need of glocouse to carry it.

..
In reasponse to xyz2k6, creatine is a great supplement for building muscle mass . I've started cycling CEE and seen great improvements to my gains, and greats pumps after a hard workout. Mind you, it doesn't work for everybody.

Creatine gives our muscles more energy to push out those last few reps, thus building quailty muscle mass in the long term.

Thanks for that guys! I'm gonna start that loading thing tomorrow then and then continue for the 4 days following tomorrow it.

Thing is I've tried whey protein powder and although it did help a bit, it wasn't as much help as it SHOULD HAVE been considering its damn price. So I thought lemme give creatine a try. I'm one of those guys with naturally skinny forearms, and you know forearms, they are like the most stubborn muscle group. So I said to them, watch forearms, I'm gonna overwork you with the help of creatine and then we'll see who grows and who doesn't b*tch lol

again, thanks for the help!

Its sounds to me, but i could be wrong but your relying on supplements to increase your gains. Your first priority is to sort your diet, make sure you are eating correctly and getting the right stuff into you. Supplements are what they say on the tin basiclly, they are used to supplement our good diets in order to increase gains further.

If you need info regarding a diet plan, contact me and ill give you some links to interesting articles.

Same. How much do you weigh? and what is your height? You sound like an ectomorph.

I am taking whey protein powder right now - absolute *******s. Although there is a lot of protein in it, there is not enough calories per servings, so if your natrually thin your obv just going to burn that off easily.

Invest into prolab N Large 2, I gained 1 and a half stones from that in 5 months.

Just take 5g a day post-workout with maltodextrin and protein, simple.

Which creatine were you using?

Monohydrate did nothing for me to be honest, so i stopped using it. Im taking CEE tablets from myprotein.co.uk at the moment and have seen such a big improvement. CEE can be obsorbed somthing like 20 times more effectivley then the old monohydrate.

Give it a try, you never know!

Whats your natrual physique d00d? are you ectomprhic?

I think its monohydrate.

I'm 18 years old, and only started working out with free weights in February. But since then, I have been doing it like 4 days a week intensive using whey protein (Promax). So as you can see i'm fairly new to this stuff lol

I think I am already bulked up enough (with fat that is) hence I don't really need any of those fat gaining supplements I've seen. I'm close to 6 foot tall ( 5.9 I think to be exact) and I weigh 80kg (176lb) on the dot. I have weighed this since like year 12 (last year) and it was this weight factor of mine that tempted a mate to suggest that as "i am fat, i would become hench if i did weights" lol anyway i don't know how much truth there is in that statement

And what the hell is ectomorphic?

OK I have made a mental note (and written it down somewhere too) - once this supposedly useless monohydrate finishes in a few weeks, thats the next supplement to try out lol

Thats assuming that the monohydrate doesn't indeed work:confused:

 lol hope it does though

ohhhh dude, I wish I was ectomorphic now!!!!

How do I become ectomorphic, I have so much fat on my body its haiding any muslce gain I might have actually had, so i might be discarding supplements saying they dont work when actually they are and i just cant see it.....i guess its time to ditch the donuts dammit:mad:

My natural physique is Skinny, all my life i've been skinny, really low body fat till this year i've decided to change my ways.

Because i play rugby for my uni, and being small i was getting knocked around alot taking some heavy hits, so i decided enough is enough and starting weight training seriously.

Thanks to the muscletalk forums, ive educated myself, got myself a decent diet and routine set up and follow it religiously. If you are to get bigger and make gains then so much dedication is required from you and thankfully ive managed to stay dedicated and the gains have come. Nothing is nicer than getting a comment from somthing saying " Your arms are looking big" or somthing similar, makes every rep worth while!

You can't . It comes down to genetics.

No trust me, you don't want to be ectomorphic. It is a pain, especially if you are tall, plus considering you want to build up your forearms - it is EVEN harder if you are ectomorphic, because I literally have v little fat on me.
