Lately when I lie down to go to sleep, I can't seem to turn off my mind and so it takes a long time to fall asleep. Any tips on ways to calm my mind down?

Recently I tried using one of those hypnotherapy tapes to get me off to sleep.

I thought it was going really well until the dude goes "And now you should be in a deep, deep sleep. Your subconscious is listening to my voice..." DAMMIT!

hmm just take a minute. shut down the computer/turn off your internet. step outside. get some fresh air(breathe in through nose-out through mouth) stay silent then try to sleep-relaxing your brain i'd say is the way to go.

also you could try listening to some relaxation soundtracks on youtube for e.g

Have a warm drink before bed - not coffee! Wear socks to bed and try and keep regular sleep patterns and lie still the more you toss and turn trying to get to sleep will just wake you up again
