Trip to Biristol

Hello,
I am visiting Bristol for one day, in late February. I want to get a feel for the place, as I am currently debating between going to university in London or Bristol. Could you please suggest some places for me to go during my short stay, so I can get to know Bristol a bit better?

Cheapest (sensible) central hotels are Premier Inn or Holiday Inn (both near main shopping area and within 10 mins walk of main Uni area) or Ibis (little but further away but in nicer leafy area).

Once there, walk around the harbour area, King Street/Theatre Royal, and around the area near Clifton Suspension Bridge for a 'feel' of Bristol. Also a good hop-on-hop-off bus that will take you on a quick tour of the city - http://www.city-sightseeing.com/tours/united-kingdom/bristol.htm
