Doing my first A level ISA next week, just wondering how different they are from GCSE and how to get an A grade (i.e what specific things I must write in the exam etc.)

I believe the two topics that could be assessed are either:
- The determination of the composition of a mixture (Titration) [section 3.1.2]
- An investigation of a Group 2 compound [section 3.2.6]

As far as what to write, several of questions the generally ask about your results (e.g. the average titre), there may be a graph, normally some standard calculations, possibly a straightforward error question; then finally a couple of questions which ask to "suggest' something (for example if a variable was changed). Very similar to GCSE, calculations may expect more knowledge?

Fairly straightforward, read up on your how science works.

Provided your spec. is AQA
