I've applied to study Japanese and Economics at Leeds from this September but yet to hear a reply. But on another note I hear that Leeds has very high crime rates with the student population being the most susceptible for obvious reasons. What accomodation would be best to avoid this? And how likely is it to get burgaled? I still haven't been to Leeds so i don't know the area and hope to visit if i get an offer. Thanks.

The halls are very secure and burgles are very rare - though stuff goes missing if you leave your room open during party. Oh and food - food always goes missing from the fridge

It's mainly the shared student houses that get robbed quite a lot but it's pretty much everywhere in the uk, like manchester in fallowfield where all student houses are, they get robbed all the time ( mostly due to fact people are dumb and leave windows/doors open).

If you worried about safety - go for halls.
