As far as I'm aware, a single market is a group of countries who engage in free trade. But my notes are messed and at some point it says that there is tariffs and quotas but then when the drawbacks for workers are mentioned, it says there's no tariffs or quotas to stop countries importing things from eu countries? I don't get this!

Also in drawbacks of single markets for workers it says job losses, can anyone explain why this happens?
Thankyou!

No tariffs nor quotas within the EU.

Domestic Job losses if member countries can produce goods cheaper than us. If say France is able to manufacture cars (on average) cheaper than the UK, UK citizens would just import cars from France rather than purchase from domestic suppliers.
