When you put your work experience and voluntary work that you have done on your CV, how far back do you go. For example i have some work experience from 2008/2009. I have done other work experience and voluntary work since then of course, but i didnt know whether to put the work experience from 2008/2009 on. Its work experience in the area of work that i work in, but i wasnt sure if it was too long ago to be of any use.
Should i put it on or not?

The general rule is 10 years, but it depends how relevant it is - if you've got loads of more recent experiene that's just as relevant you can leave it off. If it's more relevant than the recent stuff, then include it. If your CV is comfortably on one page, and including it pushes it onto 2, then maybe you shouldn't include it.

It entirely depends on what is relevant. If it demonstrates relevant skills and experience for the job you are applying for, then put it on, if it doesn't, leave it off.

If you've got more than one page full of relevant material, then drop the oldest off and anything done in the last 3 years has greatest value.
