I suspect that most people would gravitate towards the campishly handsome charm of Moore when they are very young.
I do have a soft spot for some of the films that he happened to be in.
But I've never been a 'Bond fan'.
Two of the best Bond films for me are Goldeneye and Skyfall.
Goldeneye is iconic for having 3 great things - great film, great N64 game and great theme tune.
The film was well directed and has a dark and moody Russian atmosphere.
Skyfall was Dench's swansong. It's interesting how, apart from a train sequence, the film relies relatively little on stunts. It's a character piece that you could watch without regarding it as a Bond film if you want. It's arguably a bit dry and boring actually but you invest in it due to the direction and acting.
It's utterly right that Sam Mendes should be director again on the next Bond film, even if it only serves to enhance Skyfall.
1.Skyfall 2.Casino Royale 3.Octopussy (I loved the yellow car as a kid!!) I watched ThunderBall on Sunday actually
Never really saw the appeal of Brosnan or Moore though, and Die Another Day is not a sin that can be forgiven easily.
