I have been offered an interview next week for PGCE Design Technology (Textiles or Food specialism),

It states in the interview paperwork that applicants for the Textiles specialism should have a 'portfolio' of Textiles work, I didn't realise this was requirement and don't have a Textiles portfolio as I did Interior Design for my degree. I know applicants with degrees other than Textiles and Fashion have been offered places on the course previously, I know the basics of general Textile processes taught and it states this in my Personal Statement.

Should I take my Interior Design portfolio as a demonstration of CAD/design? Although it isn't Textile based? Or should I take nothing? Applicants with a Textiles degree will obviously have an impressive collection of practical work!

Any advise?

Don't go empty-handed. Take examples of your work and rehearse your explanation for the absence of textiles.
