That depends, if your studying film and going to be doing a lot of video editing I'd recommend a laptop with a good processor and lots of ram. The problem is these laptops can cost a bomb. Apple or windows is just your preference but you generally get more for your money with a windows machine.

Also laptop hardware doesn't even compare to desktop hardware especially when it come to processors so unless a laptop is a necessity you'll get a lot better performance with a desktop, they don't have to be big either!
