How often do you fill up your car?

i was just wondering...
i know it depends on what type of car you have, which garage you go to, how many miles you have driven, how far you let the tank go etc etc, but it would just be nice to know.

my car is a Suzuki Alto, 1 litre engine.
i usually top up about once a week.
i let my tank run down until it is just about a quarter full before topping up
i like to top up at Asda, because it's only 96p or what not.. yay.

so, how about you people?

Done 4000 miles in the last 5 weeks or so and I usually allow the tank to go to 1/4 then fill to the top. I get approx 48-51mpg (somehow) so that means in 5 weeks i have used 80 gallons. 3/4 of a tank for me is about 35 litres = 7.7 gallons hence that's just over 10 fill ups in 5 weeks which means twice a week at the moment - which agrees with what I thought.

The joy of driving your parents car

When i had the beetle if depended on how much money i had! I'd put in £10 at a time (every day!) to try and use less but it never worked. I used to wait until it was on the red to fill up and i'd fill up three times every two weeks at £50 a tank.

My Hyundai Accent.......I can get about 260 miles out of a tank....probably could get more but I wouldn't push it. I normally have to top up about twice a month. Less now I don't have to drive to work.

Now i don't drive so much, usually about £20 every 2/3weeks for a 1.9TD. Should do 400-500 miles on a tank depending on how i drive... I usually go to Sainsbury's/Asda as they're the only places that do diesel for less than 99.9

every 1, 1/2 week, I'm now driving a 1.8 GTi T and it drinks :p:

I get about 25mpg in my 1.2 8v Corsa so about every 2 weeks
If the car was running a bit shoddy then I would let it run down till the light came on and then brim it with Super Unleaded.

Now I run on oil, I usually put about £15-20 in if I'm just driving around the city (to keep weight down) but for longer journeys I usually brim it for range.

I put in about £10 every 3 days, i am rubbish and i always let it go right down untill my car starts shuddering as it dont have any petrol, as i hate spending money, i usually wait untill i go to tamworth to fill it up cause its way cheaper than where i live (so i go to asda/sainsburys) but if i fill up at the garage a stones throw from my house its about 98p!

£30 every 3 weeks doing about 100 miles a week i reckon.

Well, i guess i have to fill up after 280 miles (1/4 tank) and that costs about £35 and is around every 2 and half weeks.

Every 4th fill up i put a tank of super unleaded in to blast out the carbon deposits and also if i am going up the motorway i run the engine on high octane, sooooo much smoother!

I put £15 in twice a week which does a good 400 miles. The cheapest around here is Morrisons at 94.9p.

I do really varied mileages, so there's no set time frame. I have to fill it up after 210 miles or so normally, at £60 a time. Although, the other day it averaged 20 mpg on the motorway and I got 260 miles from 3/4 of a tank.....which I thought was pretty damn good!

I never fill mine up. £10 at a time, drive until the light comes on, then put another £10 in does it for me.
That way, you aren't using fuel to lug around a full tank of petrol :p: I'm kidding, the difference is obviously tiny. I share the car with my dad, and if I use most of the petrol in it, I put the next lot in, and vice versa. Filling it up would just be harder to who used what.

I probably use about £20 a week, depends on how much I use it though obviously.
£10 every other bloody day at the moment. I don't know why, when I was at school I was driving 27 miles there and back and only putting £35 a week in! Now I'm on my hols I tend to run around a lot to friends houses, to my ex bf's house etc and I guess sitting in traffic doesn't help. Plus the fact I live 30 minutes from the nearest town and they're all 10-20 mins on from town, gah!

sorry, rant over. Petrol costs are the bane of my life. Especially now my parents aren't giving me any money and I'm yet to get a full time job!
Hrmm, my boyfriend usually fills it right up when he gets paid at the end of the month - £40 for a full tank from empty. That usually lasts around 2 weeks, maybe a bit less, and from then on I use my money for petrol - as I'm skint most of the time I have to find money so only about £10 goes in at a time, usually about twice a week, sometimes more. God knows how I find that money! If I saved the money I always manage to find for petrol then I would have a lot of money to spend on clothes, instead of feeding my car :frown::p:

Morrisons at Burton on Trent, i have frequented there often for food and petrol while i am at Uni! Nothing really spectacular, its like any other supermarket just cheaper!

Altho...i tend to go to the one in Newcastle (U Lyme) as that is closer, still have been to Burton

Gotta love Stoke and its 6 towns!
