Dressing for an agricultural show!?

Hiya!
Well I'm going to Royal Lancashire Agricu. show this weekend. The thing is I'm not sure what to wear!?

The thing is we have VIP tickets to go into the presidents tent and all that, I'm only going because I was given the tickets by my dad who is doing some sponsoring but he can't go. So me and my fella have swiped the tickets and we don't really want to pay for lunch so we'll be having it in the presidents tent thing cos its free... and I realise you can't really wear casual clothes.

Anyone any ideas!? I have a nice summery knee length red and white dress which I'm thinking of wearing with my white wedges, that's if the weather holds up! What do you think?
Any ideas what my fella could wear aswell?

Cheers for any ideas!

i wudnt wear the white wedges unless its very dry cos abricultural shows have a tendency to get very muddy due to the amount of ppl and animals and vehicles etc, but if its bone dry u shud be ok, just be careful!

Oh one of my friends took me to a poultry one! Much fun I had, but it helped that I was wearing gumboots under a skirt, the reason being the one the second poster pointed out

Remember you can get away with wearing gumboots (as a fashion item) if you keep up with trends in the accessories, which is what I did with bracelets, earings etc, and if you wear a stylish pair of jeans or trendy skirt, and simple but nice top.

But the OP said she can't go casual, what you have described sounds pretty casual to me. Why go with fashion over style?

To the OP why not take a second pair of shoes incase the conditions aren't exactly what you're expecting. A flat pair would be a good emergency pair because they have a larger surface area and would be less likely to sink in mud. This would save any embarrassment if the ground is sodden.

I would wear a nice knee length skirt/dress like you said and than just a plainish top or jacket. What you have sounds lovely, mebs take a second pair of shoes as suggested. Have lots of fun too!

roll in the mud and stick blades of grass over your bits. they'll appreciate your affinity with nature.
