Leg muscles

Ok i have this weird problem, whenver i eat the fat stores around my legs more than my upper body. In other words my legs are bulky compared to my upper body. So i wanted to ask about the exercises for legs. Do i need to use light weights and do more reps. Should i cut down exercises? I do 4 types of exercises which mainly focus on quadriceps n hamstrings (if thats the right word) I dont do calves.
How should I change my diet then? My instructor is an ******
You can't spot reduce fat. Better get running son/love.

your body chooses where it loses fat from, so targeting one body area will not cause fat to be lost from that area (sit ups wont lose fat from stomach etc). so to lose fat from your legs unfortunately u just have to aim to lose fat from everywhere :frown:. but exercising legs will make them look more toned and appear slimmer so while they will be as bulky, they will be better shaped

What a coincidence! i have exactly the opposite problem! fat wont go down to my legs! i want to get fatter but cant... ;(

what can i do to get fat into my legs? (apart from implants! xD)

i have the opposite problem i have too much flab on my legs on my hamstrings especially since i was 14 stone and got down to 10 and ever since ive been toning but my hamstrings dont my upper body is ok could be better but those hamstrings are soo stubborn.

I have the same problem fat gets stored in my thighs and bum, I think this is genetic because my mum and sister are the same although its more acceptable in females than males.
I do need to lose some weight though, so i'll see how that goes
I wonder if there are ppl out there which put on fat in their legs but when they exercise seem to lose more from the upper body lol... that would just be so unlucky
I carry the most weight around my hips and lower stomach area- my legs are okay and I have a small upper body. I do lots of exercise but it is just the way I am built!

The good news about leg muscles is that they respond very well to exercise and even just getting more active in everyday life will help- eg taking stairs not the lift, walking to school/ uni etc.

You can't do anything, unless you get very very fat and your body is forced to start storing it on your legs too, but you're likely to have to get very fat before that happens.

Ok it feels aright seeing that im not alone. I was talking to my coach the other day and he said theres nothing really i can do bout it cuz its genetic. So i guess we jus need to use lighter weights and more reps for legs and heavy weights and low reps for upper body to balance it out.. wat do u ppal say?
be thankful, its far healthier to store fat on your legs and hips than on your stomach or upper body, all mine goes on my stomach...damn my genes
