Venues similar to Brixton Academy

Went to Brixton Academy late last year and had an absolutely incredible night. I'd really like to go back but the bands that I'd like to see there are either sold out or playing right in the middle of my exams. Can anyone recommend a venue similar to Brixton, in terms of size and atmosphere? Preferably in London but I'd consider other places in the south east too! Any ideas? Thanks!!

The majority of O2 Academies are pretty similar. Brixton is my favourite venue, though. I guess Alexandra Palace and Hammersmith Apollo aren't too dissimilar to it, but the rest (Earls Court, O2, Wembley Arena) are much larger.
