wanna lose weight quick

hay guys at the moment i weigh 15 stone (overweight) and 6 foot in height. i have been starting to go to the gym regularly now doing (1 hour cardiovascular) and 30mins weights. however, my biceps are already large enough (not massive) because the only exercise i used to do previously was weights. i was wondering do you think i should stop doing weights and just focusing on cardiovascualr . because i was told from a friend that as long as i do weights i will look bigger and bigger and will make me look more and more fat. in addition how do you lose weight quick.

weights are not evry good for bruning fat
theyre good for toning up
and bulking up
running is the best way to lose weight
do it either on grass or in the gymn so no knackered knees

Bold: I believe what you're saying isn't true. Ehhhh? You won't look 'fatter' when you do weights. Bulkier perhaps, but not fatter.

Hah, I think Bis would be an expert on this. Too bad he's not on TSR atm though.
No keep up with the weights! Just make sure that you are doing enough cardio to lose fat. It is best to do weights alongside cardio even when trying to lose weight because it helps your body hold onto muscle and therefore you are more likely to lose fat. Your appearance will be better by doing weights and your metabolism will be elevated. Keep it up and you will get good results!

there are other exercises than bicep curls, do heavy compound lifts instead

in order to lose weight, you should defo do cardio:
such as:
swimming
running
light jogging
ski machines
skipping
cycling
walking

 try doing at least 30 min a day! and you will soon notice the difference, try and build it up as you get fitter!

Weightsd are ideal for muscle tone

for maximum weight loss, you should have both cardio and weight sessions in your regime

I am so sick of seeing these threads now! This must be about the tenth in the last fortnight!

If I were you, I'd not cut out weights completely, but i would certainly lean more towards cardiovascular exercises. Try and make sure you keep your heartrate at the "fat burning level" if you want to lose weight. ((Max HR - 20) x 0.65)

In response to your final question, there's no way of telling just how quickly you'll lose weight, it depends entirely on how well you exercise, how healthy your diet is and how quick your metabolism is.

Good luck!
How about not eating for a week, and doing jogging all day long.?..you'l lose weight in no time.

You're an idiot
Basically check how much you eat, keep it at a healthy level. Then check how many calories you are burning. Keep burning more calories than your taking in. Walaaa you lose weight.

Do you really want to lose weight quick and have folds of excess skin? It's best to lose weight slowly, my doctor said.
I know - to lose weight fast, why not go on a liquid diet of 500kcal a day?
Eejit.

Right - I don't know about weights. But about losing weight, just burn off more energy than you are consuming. You're already burning off energy and apparantly with not much response - so you need to cut down on what you're eating.

Whatever you do, don't eat under 1200kcal a day. That is the absolute minimum you should be eating. Eat little and often - 5/6 times a day - and get a balance of all your major food groups in there. Don't cut any foods out - if you think you're having too much, cut down - don't cut out.

carry on with the exercise - have you got a personal trainer, or anyone that you could talk to in real life about it?

Do weights, but do high reps of a low weight as that will strengthen the muscle and make it last longer (or so i'm told). You won't grow in size, and your muscles won't 'fade away'
