It's a stupid, nonsensical holiday but why ban it? If people are lame enough to celebrate let them!

As if Valentine's Day is that important for it to merit even considering a ban...

Yes, it discriminates against sad, angry loners who have nothing to live for, therefore it must be banned! It could really hurt some feelings, and quite frankly I think it's singlephobic!

Why? It's dumb but most people, especially singles, just ignore it. It's not a public holiday. How can a ban be placed? Ban Valentine's Day themed products? People are always going to ****ing send each other cards saying happy Valentine's day. How can you ban it? It's not an act or a physical thing, it's a thought inside someone's head.

If you don't want to celebrate it, then don't. Nobody is forcing you.

But some people do want to celebrate it. So let them be happy.

Think of the increased VAT revenue. Don't touch it.

Why? It doesn't harm me, it's no more commercialised than any other holiday, and it's kind of cute. Me and my mates are going to go and watch films and eat crisps and takeaway and drink cider, I don't think it has to be about romance, it's kinda fun to have an excuse to do something with your friends. If you don't want anything to do with it, just don't celebrate it?

Why this day should be banned? because this day has a commercial background? if that is the reason, then christmas must be also banned consequently based on increased commercialization. It is up to us to make the best of such days.

Nearly every thread on this forum is calling for a ban on something.

Tbf I don't think one's relationship status necessarily makes a difference in their feeling towards the day, I'd find Valentine's Day and all the commercial crap that comes with it annoying even if I had a partner. But needless to say I don't think it should be banned.
