They've been around for the last month or so but particularly now. My appt may be untidy but it isn't dirty or unsanitary. But I keep getting these flies.

Fruit flies by the look of it. They eat left out food.

Grim, spray them with cologne, that should kill them quickly enough.

You could buy an electric fly thing which is more fun as it gives a satisfying sound when you zap one

Well they don't just materialise out of nothing. There's no point killing them, they'll only come back unless you find out where they're coming from.

Could there be a dead bird in your roof? Or do you have a flatmate you haven't seen for a while? I'd check on him.

Maybe. I'll try cleaning everything with antibac and then alcohol and see what happens.

Would definitely try to find out the cause of the problem, killing them is only a very temporary solution as they breed so quickly. It's possible you could have brought them in when you went food shopping if you buy fresh fruit/veg, if not you're best having a look around the area most affected to see if you can spot anything.

Are you leaving the windows open at night with the lights on? I did that once in my girlfriend's room and there was an invasion of the little *******s.

I had some in my mam's house a few weeks ago, I put a yogurt on the table, waited for them all to crowd round it, then sprayed the buggers for like 30 seconds.

They eat left out food, as a previous poster says. It could be that you've been leaving your bins inside too long before taking them out.

The last time I had these, i left out a glass of red wine (which they ****ing loved and they all just sat on the glass) and then I put a salad bowl over the whole lot of them and waited for them to die off. That was the end of it.
