loud music can cause that... high volumes, that usually happens when you go loud occasions such as heavy metal rock bands show... its normal though, however prolonged exposure can damage your eardrums and youll forever have ringing in your ears.. just like mine, i constantly up the volume of my guitar amp all the time.... and listen to loud headphones.. my ears are ringin all the time
OK, so yeh I know I had it coming but anyway I need some advice...
... went clubbing last night, got in at 4am - nothing unusual but my ears are still ringing 19 hours later. This has not happened to me before.
Same club, same music, same place in the club...?
What can I do to stop it (I want a cure, not prevention )?
I'm not sure there's much you can do. My right ear is still ringing from a gig I went to on Wednesday... I was right next to the speakers and took the full force of it!
Sorry I can't help. But at least you know I feel your pain.

That sounds familier! Can't beat having a JCM2000 and 2 full Marshall cabs on full whack playing Tool, Metallica and Chimaira can you!!
I think its called titinus or something, but yeh i had what you have and got a constant ringing from overzealous dB, solved it by wearing custom fit ear plugs which double up as a monitor...awesome!
You get used to it eventually. Once you go a few times, the ringing goes away quite rapidly.
Not true, you cannot physically 'get used' to the loud volumes. If you paid attention you would realise that the ringing is there just as bad, it is more likely that you have mentally gotten more used to it. Either that or you have already done a lot of damage to your ears so they are less sensitive (less likely from only a few occasions, but still possible if it was loud enough).
As someone who has come close to permanent to tinitus on way too many occasions, let me tell you it is something that can creep up on you with no warning. I know at least ten people who have it permanently, meaning the ringing never goes away, never, it is there when they are trying to get to sleep, it is there whenever it is not drowned out by other noise. One was SEVENTEEN when she got it. She now has it for life. The rest are made up of people in their twenties, and a few in their fourties.
