What can i do to make life more fun?

There's the rest of the summer left and i just dont know what to do any more. I've already had a month off and if the next month continues like the last I'm gonna die of boredum.
I'v tried getting a job (like really tried hard) but theres nothing. I thought about voluntary stuff but i dunno how i would even start with that. or doing my own voluntary thing like going to help people but i know that isnt going to work.
then theres things like what can i do that are actually fun? Isnt that what your suppose to do? have fun? be happy? well how do you do it!!

I'm talking about anything from working, games, amusement, helping, outdoors, whatever!

Develop some kind of hobby. Look at something you've previously had a passing interest in (like music, a type of sport, a creative pursuit etc.) and devote your time to it -- for example, if you once played a game of badminton and enjoyed it, develop into a regular activity. Or if you remember hearing a certain band's music and liking it, look into what other work they've done and buy more of their CDs. Having a passion makes you a more interesting person, and will also help you make more friends to pass the time with as you'll have something to talk about with them.

I must admit -- I've been quite devoid of real hobbies over the last few years, due to devoting time to my A-levels. But having some kind of passion you can indulge in makes life more enjoyable and interesting.

You sound a bit defeatist to me -- are you sure? What do you mean by 'I know that isn't going to work'? If you're not sure where to start with voluntary work, just research all the available options and see what takes your fancy.

Have you tried going to the local council and looking up volunteer programmes. Local Rangers are always looking for some help.

In some places there really are zero jobs going. Where I live being one of them. It sucks. Been to loads of agencies and they all say exactly the same. No jobs.

Type 'voluntary work' and your town name and it should bring up a list. Even in my little town there are loads of volunteers needed from Befrienders to Admin work and working in homeless shelters.

Charity shops, old folks homes, hospices, even hospitals, health centres etc. If you can't get paid work, voluntary work is a great way to pass time and it also looks good on your CV.
Stick 'Millenium Volunteers' in Google then find the division nearest where you live. Fill in the online form or send a letter and they will send you a pack with volunteering oppotunites for young people. You get an award if you do 200 hours in a year, which would look great on your CV. It's for young people so it's a good way to meet new friends too.
