Hey, I've applied for social sciences at Cardiff and would really like to meet other undergraduates before I start, I'd like to meet people doing social sciences but still post even if you don't, I'm planning on staying in Talybont North and I know I'll be joining the ActOne society as well as anything jiu jitsu related :kungfu:

Hi! I'm in my gap year and just confirmed my unconditional offer to study social sciences at Cardiff Uni this September. I'm stuck between putting Talybont Court or Talybont South as my first choice for accomodation though because of what I've heard about Talybont Court not being very social, and I haven't even considered what societies to join yet.

Hey, i know what you mean about Talybont court, I've heard the rumours too, I went for North because it was cheaper and I'm on a tight budget but I had a friend who stayed in Court and she said it's really not as bad as everyone says and the other Talybont residences are within walking distance. From what I've heard North is closest to various shops and supermarkets whereas South is the most social and can get quite noisy, but you can always come to North and chill out with me :aetsch: also you got an Unconditional Offer...WOW!!

That's pretty much what I've heard about each of the Talybont residences too, but either way people recommend them as being good first choices so I'm sure whatever I choose will be fine aw thanks, we could end up being neighbours! it's only because I already had my results from the year before though, but Cardiff was always my first choice so I accepted it as soon as I got the offer 😁

I'd quite like to be a play therapist but I didn't want to limit my options too early on and the course is recognised by the British Psychological Society which is a good starting point for what I want to do how about you?

I don't really know what i want to do yet which is why i went for the course because it allows for breadth and specialisation later if needs be, I'm hoping I'll just be drawn to an area whilst I'm there which can then shape my career. :crossedf:
