Accepting an offer whilst waiting for the outcome of another

OK, here's the thing. I recently got an offer from Cambridge to do a PhD there (BBSRC DTP). I am inclined to accept, but I am slightly worried that I may not be able to accept their offer. I have submitted other applications.

I was wondering whether anyone has had any experience with initially accepting two PhD offers to finally decide at the end of the year once they had their final degree results (I'm on my final year so I don't yet know what my final degree will be).

Thanks for the help!

You can accept more than one and decline later, people often do it.
Since it's the only offer you currently have, I suggest you accept it. You could always decline later if you decide to take up another offer. I know it sounds selfish, because the place could go to someone else, but you have to do it to make sure you end up with a place! Where else did you apply btw? I've only got one offer from Imperial for their Immunology PhD programme. All my other application were rejected :frown:
