how do i get motivated???

hey, i have been wanting to loose weight for quite a while now and now think since the summer holidays are finaly here there isnt a better time!
The only thing is i cant get motivated i want to go out for a run but can only go in the mornings as i have gt a summer job and i would prefer to lie in bed than run
and when i get back from work i just watch the tele and eat for the rest of the day
how do you think i shoud get motivated cz i just cant :confused: :questionm

buy a dog to chase you/to run with?

Focus on what you'll look and feel like when you've lost the weight? Have someone in your house force you to go? You just need to find something to work for you.
people in my house just laugh at me when i tel them i want 2 lose weight cz i tried so many times but cant suceed
i already have a dog lol but it is as unfit as i am

Think about doing it for the dog then and not for yourself, if you're unmotivated you'll have to exercise because the dog will need it, and voila: you're exercising and losing weight.

I dont know what to suggest to be honest, you've either got the drive to succed and reach your goals or you dont.

I used to be the same, ate rubbish, played computers games all day etc, till i decided to get off my arse and stop being a bum. Got myself down the gym, got myself a diet and routine sorted and have been doing it for months without fail now. Bearing in mind i never had any weight to lose, i did this purely to gain muscle mass, but im so happy i did it.

Keeping fit is a lifestyle, if your going to do it, its going to take alot of time and dedication to succed, but in the long run it'll be worth it!

thanx! i start things but can never keep the rutone plus i cant rely afford 2 join the gym id rather save the money 4 a car when i pas my test lol

Thats kool. Its upto you how you prioritise parts of your life. Personally i'd rather be fit and healthly than drive a car. Getting a car is going to make you even less motivated to improve your weight, and its just too easy to get into your car and drive to the shop, rather than go for a brisk walk!

Look at some dodgy Holiday photos- they're always a bit of a shocker.
I think you've just got to put things into perspective and stop making excuses. Your the only one that can determine your motivation, and its far easier to start now than to end up months later thinking 'what if?'

Are you kidding?!

Dogs run alot faster than humans, if dogs were running at the same pace as you were, they would not even be running at half the speed they could do! It would be a jog for them!

Depends what dog you have of course, but if you have like a medium sized dog (Dalmation, GSD, Lab, etc) you will not burst their heart by running. Frankly if you need to go on a diet, there is probably very little chance you will be able to run faster than your dog if it is anywhere near a decent size. Perhaps that should be your goal...to run as fast as your dog, and to get your dog into shape, which as you say it is unfit would also be very good for the dog and it will smell less/live longer!

do a sport you enjoy- seriously i could play basketball or do martial arts for a day quite happily cuz i love them

but running

ten minutes max

find a sport you love and go for it!

Everytime you want to snack or eat something bad, dont and put the cost of it into a money box or something and then go for a brisk walk round the block. At the end of the week/ month look empty the money box and buy something nice, that will maybe even be a size smaller than the last item of clothing you bought. Do things like 100 star jumps when u get up in the morning and 100 before you go to bed. Take the stairs instead of the escalator/lift. Find a friend who also wants to lose weight and you could exercise together. Come up with a healthy eating plan and plan what you are going to eat in advance so that you dont have something fatty because you had to rush or couldnt think of anything else. Keep a diary of how you are feeling and take photos to show ur progress. A friend of mine joined weight watchers and steadily lost weight, it does work!
I want to lose weight too to be honest!If you want we could keep it contact about how we're doing, what we've done each day to help our cause etc? Up to you but PM me if u think its a good idea.

Perhaps this doesnt directly answer about motivation, but surely if u find somethingmore straight forward you will have more motivation to do it?

same , i find running really boring and dull
so i cycle isnetad, rock climb, canoe etc...
just find soemthing you love
and moniter your diet as well as your exercise, dont eatcrap, cut out all drinks except water...blah blah blah really boring stuff, but it works
What you could do, is find some classy pictures of women, ie natalie portman and penelope cruz...oops i see you're a woman, ok, well post pics of whatever males take your fancy and think to yourself, "could guys like these really take a fancy to a tubby girl like me??" Just motivate yourself through setting standards high, hopefully instilling some anger into yourself as to why you have found yourself with extra weight to burden...anger could then motivate some good working-out etc..
