Drink lots of water. Water has a habit of making you not want ANYTHING if you drink lots of it.

1 way is to change your thinking as to why you think you can't give up:-

1 "my body craves the nicotine" - no, your body craves healthy things !

2 "I get bored" - yes and smoking is distracting you from more interesting or entertaining things

3 "I need it socially" - no, it's undermining your social life

Think about how you will be perceived at university.

It's a chance to shed the image of 'being a smoker'. It can be off putting to some people, especially girls. Not smoking could be the difference between a girl going out with you or not.

I smoke socially at the minute but I'm stopping when I get to uni. I don't want to be known as a smoker at all. However, I suppose it's easier for me as I know I can stop as I only have a couple of cigs on a Thursday/Saturday night.

Yeah It's rather weird imagening myself being a non-smoker...

but it will make you way more attractive....smoking = total turn off (as Journalistix mentioned...)
Reply 15
OK, yeah, that's one positive thing anyway

Turn it round - have u seen that programme of a girl brought up by dogs ? She behaved like a dog !!

She didn't know any better !

See yourself as you should be - FREE to be all the good things.

:eyeball: care to explain? :poke:
I have an idea! Promise yourself to pay £5 to the charity of your choice (cancer research UK maybe?) for every ciggeret, you smoke. If you are honest enough with yourself to stick to this (you must make sure you do pay if you end up smoking because its worth paying as it will be such a big motivation to stop!)
If you truley keep to this, you will not be smokeing much longer, even if you wanted to you could not afford it :p:

That's a great idea..!!
The main reason for why I'm quitting now is because I'll be moving to the UK for uni this autumn, and I've heard that cigarettes are really expensive there, like more than twice as much as here (sweden)... So I realised that it just wouldn't be worth it....:p:
