The graph wasn't too bad if you fiddled a bit with the equation.

I thought it went pretty well!

I didn't have much time to revise, so I was pretty pleased when I'd gotten through the paper. If you fiddled with the graph a bit it got easier. I think it was a bit like A rectangular hyperbola restricted to the positive quadrant.

Yeah it looked like y = x^2 rotated 90 degrees clockwise about the origin. I think however that it was a bit 'broader' than y = x^2.

I think I may have got that right then. I couldn't prove that dy/dx result, but I think I picked up nearly full marks on the last question which compensated for it.

Both P2 and P5 were really nice today...must be something to do with the date (Fri 13th!).

I couldn't of wished for a nicer paper.

The last part of the last question had me puzzled for a while until I woke up and realized what was going on. cost = 1/2 wasn't it? Didn't have time to write the solutions as it only came to me at the end of the exam.

I didn't feel pushed for time at all...the way it should be!

Yeah, but don't forget cos(t) = -1/2 for the other focus. So you should've got 4 values of t.

Well I got:

1
Ln3 and Ln(1/5)
2. b xartanhx + 0.5artanh(1-x^2) + C

3 3800 (3 sf)

4a s=2sinU - 1
b y= 0.25(s^2 + 2s)

5b
(aLn(4 + root(17), a*root(17))

b stuffed up

c pi/3 - (1/root(3))*ln(2)

7b) Jn=nJn-1 -1/e
e) 0.5(e + 4 - 5/e)
8b pi/3 or 5pi/3 or 2pi/3 or 4pi/3

Anyone get anything similar??

im not sure about the negative thing on the cos (t) = 1/2, because if you read it it talked about distance, which was always positive, so i only got the positive values.
i wasnt sure though, didn't have much time left though to check!
