Hi guys, this is aimed for Gothic novel lovers and those who are not! I just want to know your opinions about Gothic Literature. Have you heard about it? are interested in it? but the main question is whether or not you think it's dead or still popular.

Thanks!

Gothic hasn't died, but it has disintegrated into various different forms. A lot of psychological thrillers contain gothic elements, for example. The problem with Gothic is that it exists at the boundary between terror and humour, and this has been exploited by increasingly parodic Dracula movies and other horror-comedies. Nowadays, people like their horror a lot more visceral. It's my favourite genre, though, and I'd like to see a revival in a new form.
