So I'm self-teaching AQA government and politics and doing well so far, but I'm stuck on a particular point. Can anyone doing the Ideologies in Action module at A2 tell me, to what extent do we need to draw parallels between the issues discussed and the ideologies from the first module?

For instance, if I used the Equal Pay Act to highlight gender inequality in the workplace and government efforts to tackle this, would I then need to evaluate it from a liberal economic perspective, for example? I ask because, in this instance, for example, evaluating the Act in terms of its underlying economic ideology seems to have little to do with the issue of gender equality itself.

The study guide that I'm working from says little more on the issue than "you'll be expected to analyse party policies in terms of their underlying ideologies". Any help would be appreciated!
