Place to Live - Wirral

Hi all,
I'm a recent(-ish) graduate and am now working on the Wirral (merseyside)

Does anyone have any advice of good/bad places to live, with good public transport links (I can't drive). I'm very keen to live on the Wirral rather than Liverpool - don't want too much of a commute / have to cross the river every day!

Where about in Wirral will you be working in if you dont mind me asking? Ive lived there all my life most places have pretty good transport links. The north end and the centre of Birkenhead are considerd to be the roughest areas of Wirral, however Im not sure if theyre actually as bad as people make out. My area (Rock Ferry) used to be quite rough but isnt so bad now. As the other poster said Hoylake and West Kirby are nice but apprently can be a bit pricey.
