Hi
I was doing some practise questions for the PSYA4 exam and I found this question from the Jan 2011 paper and I can't work out what to write / how to write it
The question is
'Outline and evaluate one psychological explanation for either phobic disorders or obsessive compulsive disorder. (4 marks + 6 marks)'
I'm doing the OCD topic. I've had a look at the mark scheme and it's not making it any clearer for me.
Any help on how to write this essay would be really appreciated!
Thank you

that's quite a vague question, from what i understand, you pick either ocd or phobias, and then just explain and evaluate one explanation of them, eg describe and evaluate the cognitive explanation of ocd
i did aqab, but assuming a is the same, then you'd need 4 description points, and 6 evaluation points?
so if you explain fully the theory, then you should be able to get the 4 description marks, and explain a study related to it in more detail
and then you need to evaluate the theory, so use studies to support/criticise it, compare it against other theories etc
hope that helps a bit
