I hope so because i don't think i've used it since i was about 8 and did the spiky hair thing for a day.

I think they dislike it when it looks like it's been covered in superglue and grease.

I agree. But my hair looks bad if I try to do anything at all with it, but ok-ish if I let it do it's own thing.
But then some people at school I couldn't imagine without gel/wax, so I guess whatever works for you is fine.
*waits to hear girls' opinions*

yes! i hate it. only when they do the whole wet look thing, its nasty
Any hair product worn to an excessive degree of noticeability, is unattractive.

How about just letting your hair grow and leaving it?

I prefer the natural look of just accepting whatever hair you have and not caring.

fair enough  but it depends on the person and what style they want. If someone does/need to use a lot of gel, they might want to try hair wax since a lot of gel is nasty!
American Crew Fiber is the solution to all hair problems. You get the natural look with low shine and a very strong hold. Easy to wash out and probably the number one seller on the salon market.

Fudge hair shaper is good. Very strong hold, matt finish and smells nice (I wouldn't say it smells like fudge, though).

Ugh. Ross from Friends? Bad. No gel. Wild hair is cool! Picture?

I would be slightly pull off since I usually find girls with long hair more physically attractive. If it's too straight though, it can get quite obscene. :p:

EDIT: I read this as "Do GUYS hate GIRLS with gelled hair???"

In which case, I think it's absolutely fine.
I hate Ross Gellar's hair in the earliest Friends series and I hate the "hair at the top, nothing at the sides" look. Just grow your hair upto your jawline (at least) and texurise using some mess up gum (its all good).

I don't HATE it when guys do it, but it always makes me think "Hm, wonder why he put gel in his hair...?"

I think, if that is what gives you cofidence, then that is what will make you attractive to a girl....if you're fun to be with, the hair won't matter really. Confidence and arrogance are COMPLETELY different things tho! I must admit i look at guys with gelled hair and think they love themselves - i should tho. I wouldn't not talk to a guy becuase of it though, i'd wait to see what he was like personality wise.

When it looks dripping with gunk - that's not nice really, but if u have unruly hair then i guess it's a necessity to make you feel good. I know nothing about gelling hair or anything, but just a random - hairbrained?!- idea...would hair SPRAY work, rather than hair gel? That way it keeps it in place but with the 'just stepped out the shower/stuck my hair in a pot of glue' look.

I duno...i wouldn't worry about it. Most girls date the guy, not the hair.
