Hi, I'm currently studying 4 A levels (Maths, Further maths, Physics, Business) and I have solid revision techniques for every module in every subject except for unit 2 physics (Electrons, Waves and Photons).

I don't find the book particularly useful but since unit 1 is mechanics its pretty easy since I'm doing mechanics modules in Maths and Further maths also. But the unit 2 stuff seems to go in one ear and out the other, I'm trying to read through the book and understand it, do past papers etc.. But it doesn't seem to be working, and its vital i get this unit right as its 50% of my overall as grade.

Waves is sort of okay but the rest of it is just confusing me. Does anyone have any revision tips or know of any good revision guides and books. Any input would be much appreciate, Thanks

Which book do you have at the moment? The Heinemann one is an okay one (it's not great though). I found a fairly good way to revise was to go through the spec and write notes on everything in there, the only thing is the definitions in the Heinemann book don't always get full marks (despite the fact the book is endorsed by OCR)... So it's best to check definitions against past mark schemes rather than the book.

Other than that past papers are good, I usually do a past paper, find out which areas I'm doing crap on then revise that area. I also found the CGP book is good for condensed notes.

Yeah I have the Heinemann book and like you said the definitions aren't always guaranteed to get you fall marks. However the CGP revision guide is really good and I'm working my way through that. Thanks for the advice about going through the spec I'll try that out
