I don't get any of those symptoms, but maybe you shoudl chat to your doctor about them.....

If he took one, probably nothing. Tell him he will grow boobs and start wearing high heels immediately.

Microgynon seems to be the first one GPs put you on, but yeah, when I was on it for heavy P's I ended up getting really depressed and put on a lot of weight. Try Logynon, if you want. It's deffo got cooler packaging.

No idea, but as it's meant to 1) thin the womb lining, 2) stop the egg from being released and 3) thicken up the mucus in yer tubes, I doubt it'd be anything nice for him.

No! For goodness' sake, don't say the boob thing!

I've been on it for over a year now...haven't really had any side effects.

Talk to your doctor, they'll put you on something with less side effects.
I put on about half a stone within two months of starting (because I was so hungry), and it made my sex drive vanish totally.

I tried Dianette, Cilest and Femodene which I've now been on for about three years with no problems...It's just about trying different ones until you find one that agrees with you. I've lost the extra weight, everything is back to normal, and my skin is also a lot better (though maybe that's because I was 15 when I started taking the pill and I'm 20 now...)

Thing is, sometimes when you go to some GPs and say "Um, this pill is making me cry and I've put on weight" they just look at you like, "Do you have a real problem?", as if we're all thriteen year old chavettes shagging about.

I was on microgynon 30 on and off for about a year. I personally didn't get on with it because it required me to remember to take tablets (I'm bad enough at remembering to take the tablets I already have to take), the first time I used them I bled for a fortnight solidly and that scared me and I found out about the contraceptive injection. I find the injection much easier because it only requires topping up once every three months, I don't have to think about it inbetween and I don't have any periods. Of course there are risks with either of them, but so far I have been fine.

Microgynon sent my blood pressure through the roof and gave me massive withdrawl headaches by the end of the three months I was on it for. If you don't get on with after three months, chances are you're not going to, so maybe see about a change?

I ended up on the injection because the blood pressure thing is due to the eostreogen (sp?) so I needed something without.

There are a lot of reasons why people can gain weight between the ages of 16 and 18...
I been on it for 3 months (purely to deal with BAD pms) and it was fine the first two months, but this month I skipped one and I'm all hormonal again, rats  , it could be taking it slightly wrong??

Also, my boyfriend took one once years ago (he could be on here, hence the anon :p: ) and says it never affected him

xx

I've put on a little bit of weight with microgynon but it doesn't make me feel depressed at all, actually I'm way happier and more comfortable with my body when taking it. I love it because I can skip periods and therefore save money on sanitary towels. :p:

I've been on microgynon over a year and been fine; I put on some weight at the start (not loads) but I've lost it again.

And for reference - my friend made her boyfriend take the pill for a month just to "see what would happen." Nothing did.
I've been on it for about 10 months now and I went up 2 dress sizes in a very short amount of time. It might not seem like an awful lot but because it was so quick I've ended up with terrible stretch marks. I am always hungry. I know one of the side affects of the pill is an increase in appetite but does anyone think it would be worth going to see the doctor about this alone to see if I could change pill?

The weight gain has knocked my confidence a bit and it's crap as a student considering I don't have the money to buy many new clothes. I'm trying to lose weight. I'm doing the diets I have done in the past before going on the pill and I stuck to them. Now, however, I can't stick to them because I always want to eat.
i do get a bit depressed from time to time and sometimes my stomach really hurts but there jsut small problems wen i was on cliest it mamde me feel so ill fro like half of the pack then i went on soemthing else and that made me have a period 4 21 days it was crazy but then everyone is different if u dont feel happy try something else theres loads out there
you know the weight gain thing, is it just the fact you get hungrier so you eat more, because i could beat that, or is it a hormonal thing you can't control, weight gain thing ?
i've got an appointment on wed to go on the pill, i've been putting it off for aaaages... i have a doctor phobia :afraid::redface:

I have been on the same pill for a little while now and i have LOST weight!! I am not linking the two though. To be honest if you gain some weight you are likely to lose it again just as quickly i wouldn't worry too much. Pills are very confusing things, i mistook mine a few days ago and cried for about 2 days over the most trivial things, they mess with your hormones! Have a chat with your doctor but give it a little while to settle down and it might work out ok for you.
