sorry for any mistakes, I don't know if we all do the same practical but I'm sure you can write about any as long as it relates.
for the contributions to psychology can anyone help with, what contribution has the understanding of the unconscious made to society (psychodynamic contribution) thank you )

Thanks a lot  . Those notes are pretty good for me .

I think understanding of unconscious has contributed society by providing help in the development of therapies such as Free association, dream analysis . ( The base of both the therapies is understanding unconscious conflicts that are disturbing the individual though they use different techniques to do it )

Getting really worried about issues and debates in unit 4. I think I'm okay with unit 3 and clinical though (hopefully), just need to keep revising!

Anyone else finding the jump from AS to A2 massive? I adored psych in year 12 and now I actually dislike it a lot, perhaps it's the pressure to get the grade for uni but there is too much to learn:frown:

how are you guys learning contributions?

The best way to learn contributions for the five AS approaches is to remember the key issue you learned at AS and the treatment the approach provides that you learned at A2. That way you don't have to learn anything extra, and you can revise key issues, treatments & contributions all at the same time.

Lucky for me, my contributions for child and crime also overlap because I'm doing autism as an extreme male brain condition for biological and child contributions, and eyewitness testimony for cognitive and crime.

That leaves a few points on how drug therapy from clinical contributes to society to revise. Lots of overlapping but it really helps and means there's so much less to revise! Then you only have to add a sentence or two explaining how specifically this contributes to society. Hope this was helpful :h:

I absolutely hated psychology last year because I don't like theory work. However, because this year is applied I find it so much easier and i'm doing really well. I'm even doing Applied Psychology at uni!

Less than 2 weeks to go until unit 3!
Has anyone done the content analysis for health that could help me out? (How drug abuse can be treated) I'm really struggling!

Hi, I didn't do health psychology, but i found an analysis of two articles ( couldn't find a content analysis ) for health psychology from the internet with answers for exam style questions. Hope this will help

Also, everyone checkout this http://www.smartpsych.co.uk/revision It's really helpful for revision . Both unit 3 and 4

I do, I'll PM it to you

I'm doing the papers this June too. Does anyone have any idea which topics would most likely come up, especially for the 12 markers?

And is Unit 4 a killer or what!

Try these sites for notes on issues and debates :

http://www.smartpsych.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Issues-and-Debates-Booklet-2014pdf.pdf

https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=YnJvbXNncm92ZS5pbi50aHxwc3ljaG9sb2d5fGd4Ojc0YTdjYzQxMmVlYTRiMzI <<-----A power point

http://www.scribd.com/doc/93135728/A2-Psychology-Unit-4-Issues-and-Debates

http://a2psychology101.wordpress.com/downloads/

Tips

I make flash cards with the treatment / explanation on one side and one or two studies that support it on the other side (outlining the findings of that study) . This has helped me a lot to remember studies that support different explanations .

You can also make a spider diagram for the main studies / Explanations from different approaches.

Another thing i have found really helpful is listening to the notes on my laptop rather than reading all of them. ( Especially those pdf notes )

Hope this will help you
