Relationships at work?

I work in a big shop with several departments and have recently developed a little crush on one of the guys who works on the tills. I work in customer service which means I only get to speak to him when he comes to get change or needs other assistance - which isn't often - obviously limiting my chances of striking up a little conversation. He seems really nice so my question is, does anybody have any advice on how I could go about getting to know him a little better?

And, just for curiosity sakes, do you think relationships beginning in a work environment can work?

when i was 16 i had sexual encounters with my boss, didnt make it awkward at all.

and in my new job i got together with a fellow colleague and when we split it was weird at first because we were talked about by others and tasks we would usually have done together, we did separately which wasnt as good fun. but we speak now and its fab :smile:

I agree ask him for a drink and get to know him first before rushing in, thats what i did with my current girlfriend who i met at work.

As you don't see him that often you may as well as, that way if it all goes tits up you won't have to see him much and could maby get a colleague to 'service' him when he comes to customer services.

hey, im in exctly the same situation as you.. theres sumone i like, can't seem to actully tlk cos we hardly see eachother at work if you are more confident/outgoing and willing to make the first move.. YOU SHOULD!, you never know he probably feels exctly the same but yeee i know the unknown is very scary
I can't build up the courage to tell this boy at work my feelings and i know im going to regret not doing it but heyyy.. go for it if you want!
