It doesnt hurt and theres no side effects I know of. Ive had the first two and will get the next one in a month. I had to have it in order to do shadow work with my dentist. Dont worry about it .

i've had all 3 of mine done (and the blood test to show immunity) and i can quite honestly say it didn't hurt one bit. it's a very quick thing - over before you know it. No side effects here either. normally when i have injections my arm stays sore for a day or two - i had no soreness from the hep b.

Good luck! Don't worry, think about something else while its happening or have a chat to the nurse to take your mind off

Stab yourself in the bicep with a fountain pen and then twist it two or three times. It's no worse than that, really.
I've had all mine, and no, none of them hurt. There were no side effects except my arm went a little numb for about 24hrs. Just waiting for my results now to see if it worked.

Compared with some injections, it's a walk in the park

The blood test to check it's taken is more painful though.

snap
although my arm did ache for a while but only after my 2nd injection.
I had my first one done last summer the day of my school ball and was only warned after the injection that my 'arm may swell' that would have looked great with a strapless ball gown but luckily it didnt happen- dont you just love mothers influences (mines a nurse where i got stabbed (and where i work) so told them not to tell me as she knew i wouldnt get it done if id known!)

The only issue with it really is if youre one of the unlucky few who does get ill from it. I seem to react to hep. injections generally. With the second hep B I got so ill I nearly collapsed on the way home, then went to bed and slept all day, and ended up off school for a couple of days. With hep A i came up in lumps... most people I know have had no probs though!

was the same as most tests as far as i can remember..sorry =P
Woah I can't believe everyone's saying it didn't hurt! I've had all three injections and all of them really stung, and my arm ached for a while afterwards too. The stuff seemed to take ages to actually be injected in, then I could feel the stuff stinging for a while after. And the nurse made me sit there for ages incase I had a reaction to it. Not nice! Sorry if I put you off btw

I had them for medical school. They're pretty much painless. After my second 1 I think it was my arm went a bit heavy for a couple of hours, nothing to worry about:smile:

Definately beats Hep B:biggrin:
Hep B is OK, I've has 2 doses, last one in Oct upcoming. Very transitory soreness, no big deal.
