lol, girls, please try and concentrate on the hair cut issue! I know it's a bit stupid really, but I think its a bit cliched pulling out a picture and saying 'I WANT TO LOOK LIKE THAT!'. Oh well, suppose I will have to end up doing that but would be grateful if anyone knows the name of style etc
Stuff the cliche! If you try and describe it, they'll inevitably do it not quite right. I don't think there's any shame in taking along a picture, I'm going to when I get my hair curled
As long as it's not a really butch, B&Q Garden Shears-style barbers, you shouldn't be too embarrassed about whipping out a photo. You're paying for the cut, so make sure you get it how you want.
If you're really determined not to take a photo, try asking for a choppy, textured length with a slight side-fringe. If you're getting blank looks and arched eyebrows from a particularly dense barber, it won't hurt to run your hands through your hair to mess it up and show the sort of overall look you're after.
Yeah, I think I'll take the plunge and go for the photo option. Although I will have to be selective on who I should whip it out to; there's a few of the above mentioned at this particular establishment.
I have to agree with Konstantine - you're paying them They're not going to laugh in your face, it would be bad for their custom! A "butch" barbers might not be a good idea not because they'll think you're a wuss or whatever, but because it is possible that the main experience they have might be just simple razoring off hair rather than styling (but that's a guess, as a girl I don't know much about barbers!).
lol, thanks all for advice. On the face of it, you could call the barbers place 'butch' e.g. lads mags piled on the sofa, but they do have some decent barbers, or should i say 'stylists'. Oh well, another 12hrs and we'll see how it goes...
