It's my birthday next week and I want to go out to a bar in the evening after a day spent shopping. Preferably somewhere with good cocktails and a decent spirits selection, but not somewhere that'll charge me £10 a drink, which I know might be a rarity in London; any suggestions?
Just a tip after you've finished your shopping or whatever, but TGI fridays do cocktails between 5-7pm - 2 for 1. So about 3 quid for a pretty big cocktail and they've got a nice sellection.
Leicester Sq is the place to be. Check out Zoo Bar, Waxy's, O'neils and many more within 3 mins walk from the center.
I always thought Leicester Square would be full of expensive bars, am I mistaken? I guess I'm just guessing that because it's a famous place, but I thought that's how it worked.

It aint that bad. Most places in London will have inflated prices regardless. Theres a place called Buzz Bar just off L Sq however that does a pint of Fosters for £1.99
