Last year when I applied you had to have 3 As at A-level, i think they also had to be from the 3 sciences and maths but not to sure on exact subject requirements.
You don't get offers, they wait until results are published and then give out places. Last year everyone with 3 As were puled together and those selected at random get a place. Good for some people and not for others.
This year the requirements may have gone up to 4 As, I suggest you contact admissions to find out, although it is too late to apply for 2006 entry.

yes the requirements are now 4 A's at A-level because aparently last year they had so many applicants with 3A's...i think thats stupid though because hardly anyone does 4 full Alevels ! cambridge or oxford dont accept any more than 3 as in you dont get any extra credit for it so why should UCD ?? thats my opinion anyway....but they select people purely randomly using a system of random numbers ! which is very random lol

UCD is, indeed 4As to get in and I know it's a random process but in a lot of ways I see it as a disadvantage to candidates. In fact, I think they should wise up their ideas about entrance requirements. I think the offers are so high because they have really high opinions of leaving certs (as they would, being an Irish Uni).

I'd just warn anyone trying to get in with A levels to think carefully about going there, mainly down to the entry requirements and the cost of living in Dublin. I'm Northern Irish myself and I went to Liverpool Uni for Veterinary. It takes me less time to get home from Liverpool than it would if I was in Dublin and it's a hell of a cheaper place to live! Also, the place is full of N. Irish/Irish people so you never get too lonely.
