Really weird symptom

So about a month and a half ago I developed a strange rash under my arm (in my armpit) that did excrete something but didn't itch at all, only felt sore. I thought it was a bacterial infection so I stopped using my anti-perspirant (I've been using the same one for years) and applied a disinfectant 3 times a day. In about a week it was gone. This never happened before and I have good hygiene. Over the weekend it has come back again! It is only under my right arm, both times... I am really worried because I was raped about 2 months ago and I'm afraid I have some disgusting STD as a result... has anyone ever heard of an STD that presents itself this way? Everything is fully operational down south.

I've never heard of an STI presenting like that but that doesn't mean it can't happen. You should go to a GUM clinic and get tests done anyway. And see your GP about this funny rash.
It could be a blocked pores (or similar)...I got something like that but it was a lump rather than a rash. It could be due to the heat maybe.

i agree could be blocked pores which are starting to get infected or an allergy. Probabily down to the heat, i would do what you did last time to clear it up. Also maybe go see the doctor see if they can advise you of what may be causing it.

That's what I originally thought it was, but I've never had it before and I'm not doing anything different this summer with anything related to it....

Doesn't really look like it, plus it's under my arm which is a really odd place to get that.

It might be ahletes foot. Sounds funny, but you can actually get it in the arm pits. I don't think it's called athletes foot though when its in the armpits. Saying that though, I don't think its called athletes armpit either.

haha, I'm never ever going to forget that one, athletes armpits...you get full marks for making me laugh

I'd say it was the heat and blocked pores too, I've had a rash on my ankle and I think thats heat related. I don't usually react to the heat like this at all but it being constant and having to continue with daily routines and work ect the heat is taking its toll.
If you're worried go to your gp and ask so you're not worrying over it.

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened, I hope you're alright

I have (but then i'm doing a dermatology placement).
If you were raped you should have already (i pray to god) had a full STD screen. If not then please please please get one done.
One thing that can present like this is something called Secondary Syphillis. heres a picture (bit small)http://merck.micromedex.com/images/bpm/thumbs/BPM01ID26F05.jpg

If it is something else then get a GP referal to the dermatologist.
But please make sure you get a FULL std screen in the GUM clinic. everything there is fully confidential and kept completely seperate from the notes that your GP and other doctors see, so you can give them the full story and know that nothing will ever come out.

If it was syphillis it will be sorted by good olde penicillin, but you need to make sure theres nothing else there lurking like Gono or chlamydia (which can also give odd rashes incidentally)

You really need to be wary of advising treatment like this. To joe public a rash is a rash is a rash. But the cream you had was a steroid. if you add that to an infective rash then it can spread out of control.
i had it one time, it just appeared one day when i put on a deodarent and i think i had a reaction to it, you can just suddenly develop a reaction its wierd but it happens.
Change your anti-persperant and get some sudofed cream the stuff used to prevent nappy rash on babies. Its great and cleared it up in a few days
To... OP :p:

Hmm, ingrown hair??

Exfoliate. My friend's a beautician and always comes back to me with some gory stories I don't think I'll say here  But anyway for ingrowns, exfoliators and hair wipes are generally good

Good luck, and hope you solve your problemo xxoo
