Decided to make a post on Ukraine because it's an interesting situation and no one has made one yet, as far as I can tell.

Anyway, as I'm sure many of you aware there are widespread violent protests throughout the whole country for almost three months now. It has already descended into anarchy and there have been fears stated that it could turn into a full blown civil war, in which case there would inevitably world-wide consequences as Ukraine is considered a developed country and there have been wobbles in the stock markets already as a result of the problems unfolding in the country.

What's more interesting however is the actions and rhetoric of both the EU and Russia at the time of writing this. Russia has threatened the opposition, in no uncertain terms, that they will "use all of their influence" to bring peace and stability to Ukraine. The direct quote from The Guardian is "The Russian side demands that leaders of the (opposition) stop the bloodshed in their country, immediately resume dialogue with the lawful authorities without threats or ultimatums.Ukraine is a friendly brother state an a strategic partner, and we will use all our influence in order for peace and calm to reign."

On the other hand there are murmurings from the EU that they are going to impose sanctions upon the leaders in Ukraine. Such a direct conflict of interests between the EU and Russia is bound to cause contention between the states involved. Thus we face the question of what is going to happen should either of these regional powers intervene, if they do at all. Or is it going to lead to a situation where neither side want to intervene in any meaningful manner for fear of antagonising the other or is Russia going to reinforce its rather belligerent position on the world stage as it has been doing so recently?

Regardless, it would be wise to watch what is going to happen closely.

Peacefully? Do you know how many Ukrainians Russians killed through the centuries? Go Google, for example, Holodomor. You do have strange definitions of "peaceful", exactly Russian. They, too, say that they are "peaceful", once they illegally occupy some country, and then force everyone to speak Russian, and kill those who refuse. Peacefully indeed.

Also, forgot: how peaceful it was to boycott all Ukrainian goods once Ukraine refused to enrol into their half-baked Custom Union last spring? How peaceful it was to kill 3 Ukrainian fishermen in Azov sea in August 2013, shot and drowned? This is what you call "peaceful"? Threatening Ukraine with occupation, with nuclear weapons, is that "peaceful"? You know, if Russians pay you for trolling, they did chose someone not very smart.

Yes, to say that in August 2013 Russians shot two Ukrainian fisherman in Azov sea, and left the third for dead, one has to have Ukrainian blood. Read the newspapers. It looks like your "Russians are peaceful fluffy bunnies" statement could not stand a single fact, so you quickly started talking about something else and abusing me, which is pathetic.

That was how it started, Russians sending their "politicians" to Ukraine to "sort it out". Russians have no rights to interfere in other countries, and their "politicians" even less so.

Good i understand your point, but lets consider the points, who shot the fishermen and were their any punishments? To be frank, the newspaper and twitter say that your country is in a frying pan and if today your president wont appease, since the radical groups have seized hotels, armory... The radical groups captured the police special forces in maidan. Then ukraine will repeat the process of Arab Spring. But we can take a bias review of what ukraine can do and how will the EU/ usa/ nato see it in a way.
If usa had that type of incidence, navy seals and marines would protect the president and if necessary reply with bullets to the radical groups that own snipers, 16 calibre and 12 gauges and many gas pistols, molotov cocktails and home made bombs with metal beads that bring horrific casualties.
One thing is sad though, yesterday on maidan, a lady was trapped inside a building that the radical groups burned with molotovs. A man stepped out, saying let the lady live, what the hell you are doing. They shot him in the brains.
Consider these facts and reply when free.

When the EU is such a fundamental part of this dispute it's going to be pretty much impossible to stay out of it. As I understand it, the situation comes down to a simple identity difference, some Ukrainians see themselves as closer to Russia (heard one guy on the news who sounded suspiciously like he forgot the USSR broke up) and others see themselves as more European. Ukraine is a huge country so it's not surprising that these differences exist but considering the two power players are the EU and Russia, and neither side seem willing to back down I don't think this is going to end anytime soon.

Well, for starters, you should agree that you don't know what you are talking about. Moscovites (later started calling themselves Russians, a stolen name), is rather a young tribe. They come to existence in late 15 century, when Ukraine was a powerful European country. Ukrainian cities held Magdeburg rights, a Ukrainian princess was a French queen, Ukrainian princes married Byzantium princesses. The minute Moscovite princedom came to life, they started wars. There is not a single year in Russian history, when they were not at war, starting from 15 century. First, they went to Volga, and killed all the little tribe people there, and started calling Volga "a great Russian river". Then they went to Siberia and killed people there. Then they went to Azov sea, and killed Tartar and Turks, they went to conquer Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, then they had a war with German over Baltic sea, with Ukraine, with Poland, with Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, with China, with Japan, with Finland, with Turkey. There is not a single country, surrounding Russia, which they didn't have a war with. They were close buddies with Hitler and started WW2. They started a war in Afghanistan. Half of the wars on this planet are going now, because Russians interfere. Syria, Moldova, African continent - your peaceful Russians are everywhere.
People with German, Finnish, Georgian, Polish, Armenian, Turkish, Afgan, Turkish and so on blood can tell you a lot about the peacefulness of your Russian friends.
For some reasons, you think that if you support Russian lies and propaganda for free, it makes you "real" or "nice". It just shows how desperate you are to suck up to any powerful country out there.
As to the fisherman, last spring Russians proposed to Ukraine to join a Russian Custom Union and sent Ukraine the agreement. It was much like the old USSR, so, of course, Ukraine turned it down (which was amazing, because everyone knows that Yanuk is a puppet for Russians and bought his presidency with Russian money). So, Russia started threatening Ukraine, closed the border, stopped buying all Ukrainian produce (and they buy a lot, even chocolate, can't make their own). Then, three Ukrainian fishermen were fishing in Azov sea, a Russian boat with military people came close and shouted that they were "c..s" who refused to join with Russia, so they would show them, and opened fire. One of the fisherman made a video out of it, look it on youtube.
As for your other stuff, why do you call poor deluded people on Maidain - radical groups? Radical groups are the people in power, sold to Russia and Russian puppets. I did not see the episode you are talking about, but there are many titushki - it's a name for provocers. Russians and their supporters send people, dressed in civilian clothes, to Maidan. But, underneath, they have weapons, and they have military training. These must be one of them. The only Ukrainian channel which broadcasted the truth was closed down. Their web page was closed down:
http://5.ua/
Their facebook page is still operating:
https://www.facebook.com/5kanal
And, while you are at it, tell your Russian friends take their Russian roubles and go home. No one likes or wants them there.

Guys, this is useless. Yes thank you for waking up and following up with the news. Yes they have military training. Yes they are not basic simple civilians.

Now your theory is a bit far off the grid.
Question is why does Russia have to send people? As far as I see it, And I am taking a bias view is that, the opposition groups are voting to enter the EU. The president is against it.
So your saying Russians sent soldiers to pretend as civilians, take part in demonstrations, shoot people up and police, burn buildings just for them to join the EU ?
A bit far off dont you agree.

On the other hand, considering other civil/ wars: Benghazi, Egypt and Syria is Russia's doings ??😂😂😂😂

Nevertheless, since your Ukrainian, you might agree. At that point, the conversation as well as the debating is useless and I advise you to stick to the main highlights of today and focus on todays Ukraine not prehistorical days.

Last quote is hilarious, loooooooool.
Do you even read history and from what sources?
Omfg, One of the reasons ww2 started is because Chamberlain appeased Germany at the beginning when Germany went into demilitarized rhineland zone in France. It took Alsace-Lorraine with an incredible small army. It started to militarize itself.
Italy followed Hitler steps since Chamberlain appeased to Hitler at that time. Abyssinian crisis and then Manchurian Crisis. Oh god. Im not here to teach you history.
Do you even do history gcse/ alevel?
Then there was the soviet german pact that took half of poland each. Germany attacked europe first then in 1940 attacked Russia.

Loooooooool "close buddies" , boy u git sweg
