Bad A-Level; need help about Foundation Courses

I'm holding a Singapore-Cambridge A-Level certificate, but my grades are not that good as I unfortunately fell sick during the exam period. I have other qualifications:
- SAT of 2250
- IELTS of 8
- 3 Singapore Mathematics Olympiad (1 Silver, 2 Bronze), Australian MO (High Distinction), American MO (Certificate)

I looked up in some prestigious universities like UCL and they offer Foundation Courses, however the FAQ says that they will not normally accept those who have taken A-Level, and advises me to resit for A-Level (and I don't want to do that ). Should I email to them explaining my situation and sending those extra qualifications as proof that I have the aptitude to study well?

Does anyone know if any other decent unis offer Foundation Programme that might accept me?

Bath accepts A-Levels for their International Foundation course http://www.bathfoundationyear.com/apply/entry_requirements.asp

Warwick on a case by case basis http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/hefp/contact/faq/#Alevelaccepts

They are both excellent universities, especially for Mathematics-related degrees, and will guarantee you a place if you achieve the required grades in the foundation year.

My gosh, both Bath and Warwick were supposed to be on my list for UCAS (if not for my under-performance during the A-Level exam). I know these universities fairly well. A deep thank you for taking time and helping me.

I will still give UCL a try to see if they'll accept, because London is my favourite city... And I will contact Bath & Warwick. If anyone knows any more decent unis, please inform me.

Edit: Bath just replied me... So fast. They cant tell if I'm eligible unless I apply. I will throw $$ and try my luck...

Which subject do you want to do?

If it's maths / science / engineering, Manchester may also take you http://www.manchester.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/search2014/atoz/00660/science-with-an-integrated-foundation-year-4-or-5-years/entry-requirements/

I'd want to do Mechanical engineering or Business Administration/Economics/Finance/Accountancy.

So far only University of Melbourne is keen to offer me a place :frown:
Go to Melbourne. Its an excellent University with a similar reputation to the likes of Manchester.

Melbourne is lovely! I wouldn't mind living there for a bit - they have beaches, penguins, skiing a couple of hours away (Mt Buller), warmer weather, the tallest tower in the southern hemisphere and that's on top of just about everything you'd find in Manchester.

You're very lucky!

From what I hear, Warwick's IFP doesn't give you a guaranteed offer if you've taken the A's. So that's something to consider...
