Discoloration of facial skin.

I am posting anonymously because this problem is a very embarrassing, but I need help please.

So I am going to my dermatologist tomorrow, I was wondering if anyone knows if the NHS allows skin care products on prescription.

I have really bad skin discolouration on my face, I have naturally fair skin, im Indian. It looks horrible the discolouration is all over my face, it makes me look very dark skinned but im not. I never had this problem before, before my skin on my face matched my body.

This problem is a very annoying one, I have a lot make-up that did match my original skin tone, but now im discoloured it does not look right. Which makes me upset, because im not going to buy more make-up to match this discolouration, I really want it to fade.

I think it may have been caused by sun damage or the fact that im on the pill for PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), but I don’t understand how the pill can effect my skin this way?

I have been using Clinique three step program to exfoliate and then after that some other products to make the discolouration fade and help make my skin go back to being lighter. But these products are very expensive, but they work so well. And they do this product range called Derma White made especially for Asian women like me who have this skin discolouration problem like me but yet this costs a lot of money too.

I have only been using these for a few days now so i don't know if they will help with my discolouration, does anybody know if they work well on skin discoloration? Have you used Clinique skin care before? If so how was it for you?

So what im asking is, do you know if im able to get these Clinique products on prescription? And do you have this skin discolouration problem? How do you treat it if you have it?

If anybody can help me I will be very thankful.
i doubt you would be able to get the actual clinique products on prescription but if you speak to your dermatologist and explain to them what you have put on here, im sure they would be able to recommend something to you!!

Did it start as a little patch then grow?

My sister has pigmentation on her forehead which just appeared out of nowehere and got bigger and bigger. She's told it will go away on it's own

Sounds harsh :frown: .

They probably won't give you branded products, but recommend something similiar. Maybe take in the bottles so they can see the ingredients, and give you something based on those?

Hope it clears up anyways, take it easy.

I've got a similar problem due to excema on my face. I've heard some horrible stories about skin bleaching, DO NOT BLEACH YOUR SKIN! But do what the dermatologist prescribes, they know best!
